Week 1
(27th of March 2018)
I decided to start doing research on stories and ideas for my video. I recently just rewatched Will Smith's I am Legend movie, which was about a brilliant scientist who survived a man-made plagues that transforms humans into bloodthirsty mutant, and was kind of inspired by it. I also try to find inspirations on story ideas online from writepop.com. Here's a few ideas that I came up with after brainstorming.
Week 2
(3rd of April 2018)
On the second week of class, I decided to present my story idea to Mr. Martin. I have two solid ideas so I presented both the ideas to Mr. Martin. When he listened to my first idea, he said he's kind of worried on the scene where there will be flashbacks as I'm still not sure as to how I will be doing the flashback scenes, as well as the visuals and stuff. I was also asked to think more about how the character is actually in a dangerous situation and how I would like to show it. As for idea 2, Mr. Martin said that the it's better as it's more interesting. One thing about idea 2 is that he doesn't understand why I decided to choose a brother instead of like a girl character, maybe a sister or a girlfriend. He told me the idea is good enough just consider on changing the character that died to a girl character. Other than that, Mr. Martin also said that from what I wrote, there seem to be no emotions felt by the character. It's as if they lack feelings considering that their loved ones died. That is something that I should try to work on. After consulting Mr. Martin, I decided to work on idea 2. Mr. Martin asked me to do more research, such as video references, ideas, visuals, mood, etc.
Week 5

(24th of April 2018)
On the fifth week, it's consultation time again after lecture. I showed Mr. Martin my choice of story which is my second idea. Mr. Martin said it's too simple, there's not much going on in the plot. He asked me to either extend the story or add a few more things in the story itself. I was actually thinking of going back to my first idea, which is about a virus that caused the world to end where everybody died and that the main character had been broadcasting his messages and videos all over the world hoping to get a response. But I will try to improvise on both idea then showed it to Mr. Martin again next week.

(13th of May 2018)
I decided to just stick with my first story idea but below are the improvised version of it.

I feel like the first story idea will be more interesting so I decided to just go with that. I also did try to look for some references already for the Makeup and references from films, where for this I used the film I am Legend.

Week 8
(15th of May 2018)
On the eighth week, Mr. Martin consulted us again one by one to finalize our story ideas. I showed Mr. Martin my first story which I decided to use for my final project. Mr. Martin then asked me to show him the second idea for him to compare. After reading it, Mr. Martin told me that I can proceed with the first story idea but it will be kind of boring for the whole story to just take place in a house so I was asked to add a scene where the character actually goes out for a purpose and add the sense of danger to make it more interesting. Here's the final version of my story idea.

Week 11
(5th of June 2018)
On the eleventh week, Mr. Martin consulted us one by one to talk about our story line description and storyboards. When I showed Mr. Martin my story line description, he asked me to try and change it more because almost everyone in class have the same ending. Mr. Martin suggested that I try to bring the survivor to the middle of the story where Lucas met her while on his was out to get food. Afterwards Mr. Martin asked me to try and think about a suitable ending for it and then I can start working on my storyboard as well as decide on the type of shots that I'm going to use for each scene.

Week 12
( 12th of June 2018)
On the twelfth week, I managed to rewrite the ending of my story and also redo the story line. I also did the storyboard for it.
During this week as well I started the shooting of my project. I decided to ask my friends from one of the clubs that I'm currently joining to act for my film.
Week 13
After shooting and showing Mr. Martin the rough cut, he cut out a lot of parts to make it shorter and also remove some unnecessary parts. After looking at the ending of my film, he said that I cannot use it because it's not clear as it doesn't show how the female lead died. So I was asked to reshoot and he gave me a few ideas on how I could change the ending. So I decided to revise again on the story line.

Week 13

Week 14

On the fourteenth week, I showed Mr. Martin my work again where I had my final draft, and he said everything was okay except for one part which is my actor's expression. So I was asked to reshoot that part, where I should shoot a close up of my actor's expression looking hesitant on whether he should run or help. After that I can basically start finalizing my film, do color grading, etc.
